Hello One and All. I'm Jeff Moritz as you can probably tell by the website name. I'm a sophomore at West High School and I am involved in a few activities there.
My dad is the one that wrote this website for me and my brother's website is bryan.moritzcycling.com and he wrote that too. He is very good with computers. My mom is very into bicycle riding. I went to Colorado with her and my brother this past summer and we rode our bikes there. She had been there before riding, and she has ridden in many other states, I don't even know where all she has ridden. And then there's my brother, Bryan. He's a Freshman at Iowa State and he is majoring in Dietetics. He is also very into cycling, he is on two racing teams and trains year round. That's my family, but how about more of me. It is my website afterall.
I have just joined the wrestling team. I started the season knowing nothing about wrestling and have grown to enjoy it a lot. I already have two pins. I pinned my first opponent who was, amazingly enough, their Junior Varsity wrestler. I was very proud.
I also joined the tennis team this year. I've played a couple times and my friend on the team said I should join, so I did. The season hasn't started yet but I have begun lifting weights in the morning with them. I think it should be a pretty fun time.
Also I'm in the band at school. I play French Horn and have played since 5th grade. That's a long time. I play in many extracurricular band activities, like show choir pit band, and the two jazz bands. In pit band I play bass guitar and in the Jazz Bands I play the electric guitar.
I love playing the guitar. I've played for about 3 years and I just got a new Fender Stratocaster for Christmas. It is a huge upgrade from my Peavey Raptor.
And finally I'm a Boy Scout. I have just recently finished my Eagle Project and submitted all of my paperwork to the scout office. Hopefully in less than a week or two I can have my Board of Review and officially be an Eagle Scout. I have done a lot with scouting. I was inducted in the Order of the Arrow about 3 years ago. The OA is Scouting's National Honor Society, so I'm very proud of that. I have gotten very active with OA. I am now treasurer for my lodge. Also I am planning on working at summer camp next summer for seven straight weeks. I'm not sure where I'll be working, but I know that I've got the job.
